Ulster BOCES Programs

Rondout Valley High School students have the opportunity to attend the two-year career training programs at Ulster BOCES during their junior and senior years of high school. There are 27 hands-on, real-world programs available in career areas ranging from culinary arts, healthcare, engineering, robotics, aviation, education, technology, and more. The newest program, Drone Technology, was launched in September 2017 in response to emerging job opportunities.

A senior-year experience is also available in a rigorous Ulster BOCES Pre-University/New Visions program, which, in addition to classwork, places students in the field alongside professionals for a part of the day. New Visions programs are available in robotics/engineering, healthcare, education, and music and audio production.

All of the programs offered at the Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center are approved by the New York State Education Department and successful program completion leads to a distinctive technical endorsement on a Regents diploma.

Most courses at the Career & Technical Center have established articulation agreements with colleges, which allows students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school, saving time and money.
