Planning for Success in High School

Tips for seniors preparing for college or the world of work:

Plan your class schedule with your future in mind. If you already know what you’d like to do in the future, take classes pertinent to your chosen career.
Continue to take challenging courses all the way through your senior year.
Avoid senioritis. Work hard for your high school grades.
Research several colleges and universities during your sophomore and junior years and think about where you would feel most comfortable.
Continue to be involved in extracurricular activities and consider taking on leadership roles whenever possible.
Consider participating in internships, career and technical education programs, and/or science research.
Sign up for a SAT prep course.
Study for your SAT and ACT exams.
Apply for scholarships.

Most importantly—don’t count the days, make the days count!
