Free SAT Prep Course PhotoThis January, Rondout Valley High School sophomores and juniors will have the opportunity to participate in a free SAT preparation course. The course will be offered during the school day. The spring semester course, which begins on Monday, January 29, 2018, will be taught at the High School during eighth or ninth period.

The SAT is a globally recognized college admissions test that allows students to show colleges what they know and how well they can apply their knowledge. The 3-hour exam assesses reading, writing, and math skills.

The course will help Rondout Valley students prepare for the SAT exam that will be administered at the High School on May 5, 2018. It will also benefit students interested in taking the ACT exams.

The prep classes will emphasize content, confidence-building and test-taking techniques, the prudent use of test time, and scoring. Teachers will also provide personalized feedback and suggestions for improvement. Students who take an SAT prep course typically score higher on the exams than those who do not.

Students interested in taking this prep course should sign up in the High School Guidance Office prior to January 29, 2018.

For more information about the course or the SAT exam, please contact the Guidance Office at 687-2400.
