Regents Exam Information

As many of you are likely aware, the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) did not approve New York’s waiver to forego state assessments this year. However, due to COVID-19 and the impact on our schools and students, the New York State Board of Regents has acted on a series of emergency regulations to allow for exceptions to diploma requirements associated with the June 2021 and August 2021 Regents Examinations administration.

Returning to In-Person Instruction
Principal Torok Update - In-Person Instruction

We are very pleased to announce that the Board of Education has approved our plan to replace our current hybrid learning model (in which students are in-person two days every other week) with one that provides four days a week of in-person instruction! In order to provide the scheduling flexibility necessary for our all-remote students to receive services and allow our custodial staff additional time for deep cleaning our buildings, Fridays will remain an asynchronous remote learning day. Please note that there is a required consent form below that parents must to complete by Friday, March 26.

Important Zoom Info from Principal Torok

I would like to take a moment to discuss the ongoing conversation of whether school districts should require students to have their cameras on during Zoom instruction. For the sake of equity for students who are facing home and personal challenges, our district has not gone as far as establishing a policy requiring cameras to be on, however, RVHS staff believe this is a realistic expectation for many of our students.
