Which BOCES Career Tech students go on days when there is a 2 hour delay?
For the 2011-12 School year, whenever there is a 2 hour delay both AM and PM BOCES/Career tech students will attend BOCES EXCEPT students who are in the following AM programs: Web, HVAC, and Ms. Smith’s Graphic and Visual Arts class because those courses are not offered in the PM. The buses will leave Rondout Valley High School at 11 AM on days when there are 2 hour delays.
January Exam Week Information
January 23 - 27
BUSING & TRANSPORTATION:
• The only students who are to come to school during the testing week are students who are taking a test that day or have scheduled BOCES classes.
• Regular buses will run in the morning and at 2:30 P.M. In addition, there will be a mid-day bus that will take students home at 11:30 A.M. This midday bus route will NOT pick up students for afternoon exams!
• Students who only have afternoon exams can either take the morning bus (they will have a study hall during the morning exam period) or arrange their own transportation in order to be here prior to the noon exam start time.
• Students arriving to school after the 8AM exam start time MUST enter through the gym and go straight to the cafeteria.
• Students are required to be in their testing rooms for a minimum of 2 hours. After that, they can leave with teacher permission and go directly to the cafeteria. If they are done testing for the day and have an arranged ride home, they are to leave campus.
DO STUDENTS IN THE BOCES PROGRAM GO TO BOCES DURING THE EXAM WEEK?
• Rondout students who attend BOCES programs should come to school and take the bus to BOCES as they normally would unless they have an exam that day. The BOCES program has required seat time and attending when possible helps students to meet those requirements.
WILL THERE BE MAKE-UP EXAMS IN THE EVENT OF A SNOW DAY?
• Regents & RCT exams are not made up if they are cancelled due to a snow day.
• If there is ONE snow day in testing week, the AFTERNOON midterm exams for the snowday will be made up on Friday afternoon, January 27th (the Noon exam). The morning exams will be made up the following week (January 30th – February 3rd) in class.
For any snow days beyond one in the testing week, the midterm exams will be made up in class the following week.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF A TWO HOUR DELAY?
• In the event of a two hour delay, the school will have both morning exams and afternoon exams. The morning exams will begin at 10 AM and the afternoon exams will begin at 1 PM. There will NOT be a mid-day bus run in the event of a two hour delay. If there is a 2 hour delay, students taking afternoon exams will take the 4:15 bus home.
ARE ALL MIDTERM EXAMS GIVEN DURING THE WEEK OF JAN. 23 – 27?
• Not all midterms are given during the week of January 23 – 27. Some courses offer the midterms in class in the two weeks prior to the exam period. Only the midterm exams listed on this schedule are given during the exam week. They are given under circumstances to best simulate a Regents exam in order to better prepare students for those eventual exams.
